MILITARY CONSTRUCTION AUTHORIZATION ACT

OF 1972

THURSDAY, JUNE 3, 1971

The Military Construction Subcommittees of the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Appropriations met in joint session, pursuant to notice, at 10 a.m., in room 212, Old Senate Office Building.

Membership of the Military Construction Subcommittee of the Committee on Armed Services is as follows: Senators Symington (chairman), Jackson, Ervin, Cannon, Byrd, Jr., of Virginia, Thurmond, Tower, and Dominick.

Membership of the Military Construction Subcommittee of the Committee on Appropriations is as follows: Senators Mansfield (chairman), Proxmire, Montoya, Hollings, Brooke, Boggs, and Percy. (Ex-officio members: Senators Ellender and Young of North Dakota).

Present: Subcommittee on Military Construction of the Committee on Armed Services: Senators Symington (presiding), Byrd of Virginia, and Dominick.

Subcommittee on Military Construction of the Committee on Appropriations: Senators Montoya and Young.

To authorize certain construction at military installations, and

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa

2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

TITLE I

SEC. 101. The Secretary of the Army may establish or 5 develop military installations and facilities by acquiring, con6 structing, converting, rehabilitating, or installing permanent 7 or temporary public works, including land acquisition, site 8 preparation, appurtenances, utilities, and equipment for the 9 following acquisition and construction.
