full of grief, but he did not complain or murmur. He knew quite well that God does all things right, and he fell down upon the ground, and prayed to God and said, "The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away blessed be the name of the Lord." By this he meant that he had nothing of his own; all his blessings came from God, and therefore God had surely a right to take them back just when he pleased. This was being patient ;

and it pleased God so much that He made up all Job's losses.

W. Did he give him camels and sheep and children again, Mamma?

Mamma. Yes, my love: He gave him flocks of sheep, and herds of cattle, and camels and oxen, and all that he stood in need of. The Lord gave him also seven other sons and three other daughters, so that he was as well or better off than he had

been before, and a rich and happy

man again.

You see, my dearest boy, there is nothing lost by serving God. Indeed, it is the only way in which we can be happy.

W. Mamma, can you tell me any thing about Jesus Christ that I have not heard before? You know we have read in "Mamma's Bible Stories," about his being born in a stable, and laid in a manger ;. and we have read there about
