Though I walk in the midst of trouble, yet shalt thou refresh me; thou shalt stretch forth thine hand upon the furiousness of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

The Lord shall make good his loving kindness toward me; yea, thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever; despise not then the works of thine own hands. Now unto the King eternal, &c.

Thou art about my path, and about my bed, and beholdest all my ways.

For lo, there is not a word in my tongue, but thou, O Lord, knowest it altogether.

Thou dost encompass me behind and before, and layest thine hand upon

PSALM 139.

O LORD, thou hast searched me out, and

Such knowledge is too wonderful and excellent for me ; I cannot attain unto it.

Whither shall I go then from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

If I climb up into heaven, thou art there; if I go down to the grave, thou art there also.

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Even there also shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

If I say, Peradventure the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

Yea, the darkness is no darkness with thee; but

the night is as clear as the The Twentyninth Day.

PSALM 142.

I CRIED unto the Lord with my voice; yea, even unto the Lord did I make my supplication.

I poured out my complaints before him; and showed him of my trouble.

When my spirit was in heaviness, thou knewest my path; in the way wherein I walked, have they privily laid a snare for me. I looked also upon my right hand, and saw there was no man who would know me.

I had no place to flee unto; and no man cared

Consider my complaint; for I am brought very low.

O deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

Bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks unto thy name; the righteous shall compass me about, when thou hast dealt so bountifully with

And enter not into judgment with thy servant; for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

I remember the days of old; I muse upon all thy works; yea, I meditate on the works of thy hands.

I stretch forth my hands unto thee; my soul gaspeth unto thee as a thirsty land. Hear me, O Lord, and that soon, for my spirit waxeth faint; hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto those who go down into the pit.

Olet me hear thy loving kindness betimes in the morning, for in thee is my trust; show thou me the way that I should walk in, for I lift up my soul unto

Happy are the people that are in such a case; yea, blessed are the people whose God is the Lord.

PSALM 146.

PRAISE the Lord, O my soul; while I live will I praise the Lord; yea, as long as I have any being I will sing praises unto my God.

O put not your trust in princes, nor in any child of man; for there is no help in them.

For when the breath of man goeth forth, he shall turn again to his earth; and then all his thoughts perish.

Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, and whose hope is in the Lord his God;

O sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises upon the harp unto our God;

The Lord careth for the strangers; he defendeth the fatherless and widow; but the way of the ungodly he doth utterly overturn. The Lord shall reign for ever; even thy God, O Sion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord.
