THE DISOBEDIENCE AND FALL OF MAN.

ECCLES. vii. 27, 29.

Behold, this have I found, saith the Preacher... Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

THE truth which Solomon, called the Preacher in the text, had discovered, is of so much importance to each of us, that I mean to make it the subject of the present discourse.

It is impossible that any one can enter into life, with the least prospect of doing his duty, who has not a deep sense of that weakness which belongs to his nature.

We read, in the first chapter of Genesis, that God having made the world with all the creatures and things in it, and man among the number, " saw every thing that
