All Literary Communications for the LOCAL PREACHER'S TREASURY to be addressed to the Editor, St. Albans; all Advertisements to Messrs. Lile & Fawcett, Ludgate Circus, London, E.C.; and all books for review to 2, Castle-street, Cityroad, London, E.C.

Letters have been received from Revs. T. Turner. S. Stubbings, W. Arthur, M.A., M. Randles, S. T. Bosworth, B.A., J. R. Gregory, J. B. Horberry; also from Messrs. L. Wall (will give the subject particular attention in an article).

The Volume of the Local Preacher's Treasury for 1884 is now ready, price 5s. Cases for binding the Year's Parts may be had from the Publishers, price 9d. each, or from the Editor.

FREE CIRCULATION FUND.-Previous Amount, £2 48.; T. Bonner, 2s. 6d.; J. Jones. 2s. 6d.

The Editor asks for the names and addresses of Local Preachers, in any of the Methodist Churches, who cannot afford to subscribe for the Local Preacher's Treasury. The inability of the brethren must be certified by those who send their addresses.

Any subscriptions sent to the Editor for this fund will be duly acknowledged on the cover of the Treasury.

N.B.-The Free Circulation Fund is meant to apply to every branch of Methodism. Each one sending a contribution may say in which he wishes it to be used.

What Local Preachers and Ministers think about the Treasury.-One says: "I find it exceedingly useful." Another, "I sincerely wish God's blessing upon your labours in your valuable and edifying periodical." Another, "I have taken in the Treasury from the commencement, and am highly pleased with it." Another, "I may truly say I truly prize the Treasury." Another, "I must congratulate you, rev. sir, in the excellent manner that the Treasury is brought out. It has been my pleasure to recommend it to our Welsh Preachers." Another, "I can testify to its invaluable assistance to me. It is not published frequently enough for me. The Rev. J. Robinson Gregory, says: "The Treasury is decidedly superior to the general run of Homiletical Magazines.' The Rev. Č. Garrett, says: "It is well named, and will be invaluable to them who use it well." The Rev. T. Baine, says: "It is very much liked in this circuit, and is being taken by many of our brethren, I hope all will soon take it." The Rev. J. Lewis, says: "I am more and more pleased with your Treasury, and speak highly of it whenever and wherever I Gan. The Rev. L. Tyerman, says: "Your Treasury, like all your other publications, seems to me valuable and likely to prove a benefit to a class of men who need assistance, and who deserve more encouragement than they get."

Every subscriber is earnestly requested to assist in the circulation of this TREASURY.

The Local Preacher's Treasury for 1885.

It is earnestly hoped, not only that each present subscriber will continue his subscription to the TREASURY, but that he will also do what he can to secure an additional new one. The conviction that the TREASURY has been duly appreciated and been made a blessing to all who have read it, and that it is a magazine greatly needed by the brethren, gives the expectation that the new year will more than double its present circulation.

We should be glad to have an Agent for soliciting subscribers in every Circuit of Met hodism. For terms, &c., apply to Mr. Bate, Grimstone-road, St. Albaus.

Among the chief topics to be included in the new volume for 1885 may be expected Occasional Chapters in Theology-Essays on Preachers and Preaching-Early Experiences of a Methodist Preacher-"Self-Contradictions of the Bible "-New Readings of Old Texts-Expositions of Scripture Subjects, &c.-Sermons, Original and Selected-The Gospel in the "Chronicles "-Definitions and Explanations of Terms and Phrases used in Teaching and Preaching-Sermonic Outlines-SeedThoughts on Texts-Preacher's Inquiries-Suggestive Themes and Texts-The Sunday-School-Bible Lessons-The Missionary Meeting-Varieties, &c., &c.

In the February Number, the Rev. S. T. Bosworth, B A. will contribute the first of a series of Articles on New Readings of Old Texts; and in March, the Rev. J. R. Gregory, a series of Articles on The Old Testament New Version

Any one having a difficulty in procuring copies of the TREASURY may have single copies, post-free for Fourpence, or the Parts for one year regularly sent post-free. for Four Shillings in stamps, by applying to the Editor, St. Albans.
