Mr. Strong also translated and edited Dr. Paul Kristeller's "Andrea Mantegna" (1900), and prepared for the Duchess of Devonshire the "Selection from the Letters of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire," which appeared in the "Anglo-Saxon Review" of June and November, 1899. Mr. Strong, after making arrangements for the new edition of Crowe and Cavalcaselle's "History of Painting in Italy," was prevented by illness either from contributing to the new notes or from assisting his co-editor in the general revision of the work, nor was he able to write the Prefatory Essay which he had planned on the history and development of art-criticism.
