2. I was not ever thus, nor prayed that Thou Shouldst lead me on;

I loved to choose and see my path; but now Lead Thou me on.

I loved the garish day; and, spite of fears, Pride ruled my will: remember not past years.

3. So long Thy power has blest me, sure it still
Will lead me on

O'er moor and fen, o'er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone,

And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I loved long since, and lost awhile.

Amen.

"There remaineth a rest to the people of GOD."

ΟΙ

WHAT the joy and the glory must be, Those endless sabbaths the blessèd ones see; Crown for the valiant, to weary ones rest; GOD shall be all and in all ever blest.

2. What are the Monarch, His court, and His Thone?

What are the peace, and the joy that they own?
O, that the blest ones, who in it have share,
All that they feel could as fully declare.

*This Hymn according to Mone is for use on Saturday.

3. Truly Jerusalem, name we that shore, Vision of Peace, that brings joy evermore; Wish and fulfilment can severed be ne'er,

Nor the thing prayed for come short of the prayer. 4. There, where no troubles distraction can bring, We the sweet anthems of Sion shall sing,

While for Thy grace, LORD, their voices of praise
Thy blessed people eternally raise.

5. There dawns no Sabbath, no Sabbath is o'er,
Those Sabbath-keepers have one evermore;
One and unending is that triumph-song
Which to the angels and us shall belong.

6. Now in the meanwhile with hearts raised on high, We for that country must yearn and must sigh; Seeking Jerusalem, dear native land,

Thro' our long exile on Babylon's strand. 7. Low before Him with our praises we fall, Of Whom, and in Whom, and thro' Whom are all Of Whom, the FATHER; and in Whom, the Son; Thro' Whom, the SPIRIT with Them ever One. Amen.

The Transfiguration.

"His Face did shine as the sun, and His raiment was white as

the light."

N days of old on Sinai

IN

The Lord Almighty came,

In majesty of terror,

In thunder-cloud and flame:

1.

On Tabor, with the glory
Of sunniest light for vest,
The excellence of beauty
In JESUS was expressed.

2. All light created paled there,
And did Him worship meet;
The sun itself adored Him,
And bowed before His feet;
While Moses and Elias,
Upon the Holy Mount,
The co-eternal glory

Of CHRIST Our GoD recount.

3. O holy, wondrous vision!

But what, when, this life past,
The beauty of Mount Tabor
Shall end in heaven at last?
But what, when all the glory
Of uncreated light
Shall be the promised guerdon
Of them that win the fight?

Holy Communion.

"JESUS said, I am the Bread of Life.”

TH

Amen.

'HE Heavenly Word proceeding forth,
Yet leaving not the FATHER'S side,
Accomplishing His work on earth
Had reached at length life's eventide.

2. By false disciple to be given To foemen for His life athirst,

3.

Himself, the very Bread of Heaven,
He gave to His disciples first.

He

gave Himself in either kind,
His precious Flesh, His precious Blood:
In love's own fulness thus designed
Of the whole man to be the Food.

4. By Birth their Fellow-man was He;
Their Meat, when sitting at the board;
He died, their Ransomer to be;
He ever reigns, their great Reward.

PART II.

1. O Saving Victim, opening wide
The gate of heaven to man below,
Our foes press on from every side,
Thine aid supply, Thy strength bestow.

2. All thanks and praise to Thee ascend,
For evermore, Blest ONE IN THREE;
O grant us life that shall not end
In our true native land with Thee.

Amen.

in Me and I in him."

FOOD that weary pilgrims love,
O Bread of angel hosts above,
O Manna of the saints,

The hungry soul would feed on Thee;
Ne'er may the heart unsolaced be

Which for Thy sweetness faints.

2. O Fount of love, O cleansing Tide,
Which from the SAVIOUR's piercèd Side
And Sacred Heart dost flow,
Be ours to drink of Thy pure rill,
Which only can our spirits fill
And all we need bestow.

3. LORD JESU, Whom, by power divine
Now hidden 'neath the outward sign,
We worship and adore,

1.

Grant, when the veil away is rolled,
With open face we may behold
Thyself for evermore.

Amen.

ONCE, only once, and once for all,
His precious life He gave;

Before the Cross our spirits fall,

And own it strong to save.
