[New Edition, revised] PREFACE VARIOUS persons having expressed the wish for a little Daily Text-Book which should entirely follow the lines of the Church's teaching (which it appears most of the books adapted to daily use fail to do), this one has been prepared. The object has been to keep very definitely within those lines, so that the passages of Scripture will generally be found appertaining to the Services of the Week, chiefly the Sunday's Gospel and Epistle; while the Prose and Verse Passages bear more or less directly on those portions of Holy Scripture.
