Proposes to teach educators, youth counselors, and parents about the reality of the Shoah in order to protect future generations against its repetition. Insists on rigor in the presentation of the facts to counteract efforts of revisionists to negate the Shoah. Develops pedagogical theories about this historical period through assessment of Claude Lanzmann's film "Shoah" and Primo Levi's literary contribution as a survivor. Describes the situation of French Jewry relative to the Shoah, from before the occupation to the present. Concludes that education after Auschwitz requires all pedagogues to warn future generations against the inhumane behavior that it has come to symbolize.
