5 Sing on and soar, sing on and soar
Our Refuge in Temptation.*
1 JESUS, lover of my soul,
Till the storm of life is past;
O, receive my soul at last.
2 Other refuge have I none
Hangs my helpless soul on thee;
Still support and comfort me;
All my help from thee I bring:
1 THE calm retreat, the silent shade,
With prayer and praise agree,
"Come unto me all ye that labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."-JESUS CHRIST.
And seem by thy sweet bounty made
2 There, if thy spirit touch the soul
O, with what peace, and joy, and love,
3 There, like the nightingale, she pours
Nor asks a witness to her song,
[11s & 8s.]
TUNE-" Come, ye disconsolate."
1 FATHER of mercies, when the day is dawning,
2 Yes Thou art near me, sleeping or waking,
[L. P. M.]
1 SWEET is the last, the parting ray, That ushers placid evening in, When with still expiring day,
The Sabbath's peaceful hours begin :
2 Hushed is the tumult of the day,
And worldly cares and business cease,
To turn the wandering thoughts to heaven.
3 Oft as this peaceful hour shall come,
Lord, raise my thoughts from earthly things
A Warning from the Grave.
1 BENEATH our feet, and o'er our head
Beneath us lie the countless dead,
2 Death rides on every passing breeze, And lurks in every flower;
Each season has its own disease,
3 Turn, mortal, turn!--thy dangers know:
The earth rings hollow from below,
God Our Shepherd.*

1 THE Lord my pasture shall prepare,
2 When in the sultry glebe I faint,
Though in the paths of death I tread,
4 Though in a bare and rugged way,
Through devious, lonely wilds I stray,
* Vide Ps. xxiii.
The World of Light.*
TUNE-" Laban." "Frothingham."
1 FAR from these scenes of night,
2 There sickness never comes;
There grief no more complains;
3 No strife nor envy there
The sons of peace molest;
4 No cloud those regions know,
5 O may this prospect fire
Our hearts with ardent love,

1 We love thy holy temple, Lord,
