*There is a Token for Good, or of Deliverance to the Righteous, as Exod. x11. 13. The Blood shall be to you for a Token upon the Houses; and the Plague shall not be upon you to destroy you. See Ifa. vII. 14, 16. There are alfo Tokens of Evil to the Wicked, as Pfalm 1.xv. 8. They alfo that dwell in the uttermoft Parts are afraid of thy Tokens. See Luke xx1. 25,26,28. where the fame Signs are Tokens of Evil to the Wicked, and of Deliverance to the Righteous.
Lord, haft holpen me, and (n) comforted me.
(n) John XIV. 16. I will pray the Father, and he fhall give you another COMFORTER, that he may abide with you for ever.
Thefe Supplications I prefent unto thy Divine Majesty, through the infinite Merits of Chrift Jefus our only Mediator and Advocate, who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, World without end. Amen.
A Prayer in Extremity of Trouble, or bodily Infirmity, with a Profeffion of Confidence in the Mercy of God.
LORD God of my SALVATION, I have cried Day and Night before thee. Let my PRAYER come before thee; incline thine Ear unto my CRY: For my Soul is full of Troubles, and my Life draws near unto the Grave. I am counted with them that go down into the Pit: I am as a (a) Man that hath no Strength; free among the Dead, like the Slain that lie in the Grave, whom thou remembrest no more, and they are cut off from thy Hand. Thy Wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou haft afflicted me with all thy Waves. Thou haft put away mine Acquaintance far from me. I am fhut up, and I cannot come forth. Mine Eye (b) mourneth, by reafon of Affliction.
