PROOFS AND REASONS OF THE SUFFERINGS OF THE
SON OF GOD.
Isaiah liii. 3-6.-He is despised and rejected of men,
a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and
we hid, as it were, our faces from him: he was
despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath
borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we
did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflict-
ed. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he
was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of
our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are
healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we
have turned every one to his own way, and the Lord
hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

HOW TO USE THE WORLD, SO AS NOT TO ABUSE IT.
1 Cor. vii. 29-31.-But this I say, brethren, the time
is short: it remaineth that both they that have wives
be as though they had none; and they that weep
as though they wept not; and they that rejoice as
though they rejoiced not; and they that buy as
though they possessed not; and they that use this
world as not abusing it; for the fashion of this world
passeth away.

we know that thou art a teacher come from God;
for no man can do these miracles that thou doest,

Ephes. ii. 8-10.-By grace are ye saved through
faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of
God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For
we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
unto good works, which God hath before ordained
that we should walk in them.
