Deeds: And according to their deferts will he Judge them: condemning the Wicked, to bring his way upon his Head; and justifying the Righteous, to give him according to his Righteousness; fo that Men fhall fay, verily there is a reward for the Righteous, verily he is a God that judgeth in the Earth.

a. Tho' there be often one Event to the Righ teous, and to the Wicked: tho' the Tabernacles of Robbers profper, and, they that provoke God are fecure, into whofe hand God bringeth abundantly: Behold, the Day cometh, when ye fhall difcern between the Righteous and the Wicked, between him that ferveth God, and him that ferveth him not.

b. Tho' a Sinner do Evil an hundred times, and his Days be prolong'd, yet, furely I know, that it shall be well with them that fear God; but it fhall not be well with the Wicked, becaufe he feareth not before God.

c. God hath appointed a Day, in the which he will judge the World in Righteousnefs; and minifter Judgment unto the People in Uprightnefs.

d. To me (faith the Lord) belongeth Vengeance and Recompence: I will render Vengeance to mine Enemies, and reward them that hate me.

2. The Lord our God is a confuming Fire, even a jealous God. His Power, and his Wrath is against all them that for fake him and tho hand join in hand, the Wicked shall not be unpunish'd.

b. Wherefore then do the Wicked contemn God? and fay in their Heart, the Lord will not require it? He knoweth vain Men; he seeth Wickednefs alfo; will he not then confider it? He will not at all acquit the Wicked he will by no means clear the Guilty.

c. He will not be flack to him that hatetla him, he will repay him to his Face.

d. If thou feeft the Oppreflion of the Poor, and violent perverting of Judgment and Juftice in a Nation, marvel not at the matter; for he that is higher than the Highest regardeth, and there be higher than they.

e. The Soul that finneth it fhall dye. The Son fhall not bear the Iniquity of the Father, neither shall the Father bear the Iniquity of the Son. The Righteoufnefs of the Righte ous fhall be upon him, and the Wickedness of the Wicked fhall be upon him.

a. The Servant which knew his Lord's Will, and did not according to it, fhall be beaten with many Stripes ; but he that knew it not, and did things worthy of Stripes, fhall be beaten with few Stripes. For unto whomfoever much is given, of him shall much be required.

b. It shall be more tolerable in the day of Judgment for fome, than for other's ; and they that have been more corrupted in all their ways than others fhall receive greater Damnation.

c. What shall we fay then? Is God unrighteous that taketh Vengeance? God forbid For then how fhall God judg the World? Surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert Judgment.

d. He is Juft in all that is brought upon us. He will not lay upon Man more than right, that he should enter into Judgment with God.

e. That be far from him, to flay the Righteous with the Wicked; and that the Righteous should be as the Wicked, that be far from

him. Shall not the Judge of all the Earth do right?

a. Is it good that he fhould opprefs, and fhine upon the Counsel of the Wicked? God forbid.

b. There is no Iniquity with the Lord our God, nor Respect of Perfons, nor taking of Gifts. He regardeth not Perfons, nor taketh Reward.

c. He accepteth not the Perfons of Princes; nor regardeth the Rich more than the Poor: For they are all the Work of his Hands.

d. God is no Refpecter of Perfons; but in every Nation he that feareth him, and worketh Righteousness, is accepted with him. And, if he maketh them, that have wrought but one Hour, equal unto thofe, which have born the burden and heat of the Day, is it not lawful for him to do what he will with his own?

e. Shall mortal Man be more just than God? Is not my way equal, faith the Lord? Are not your ways unequal? Wilt thou difannul my Judgment? Wilt thou condemn me that thou mayeft be Righteous?

a. If one Man fin against another the Judge fhall judge him; but if a Man fin against the Lord, who fhall intreat for him ?

His TRUTH and FAITHFULNESS.

b. God is true. He is the God of Truth. c. Juft and True are thy Ways, thou King of Saints.

d. His Words are true; and his Counfels are Faithfulness and Truth. The Word that he Thall fpeak fhall come to pafs: He will say the Word, and will perform it.

e. He is the Faithful God, which keepeth Covenant and Mercy with them that love him, and keep his Commandments.

f. He is faithful who hath promifed: For all his Promises are Yea and Amen.

g. He keepeth Truth for ever. He hath remembred the Word which he commanded to a thousand Generations. Thy Word, O Lord, is true from the beginning; and thy Truth endureth for ever. For ever, O Lord, thy Word is fettled in Heaven; and thy Faithfulness is unto all Generations.
