Strife ceafeth. For a Tale-bearer revealeth Secrets, and a Whisperer separate:h Friends; but he that is of a faithful Spirit, concealeth the matter.

a. Only by Pride, cometh Contention; but with the well advised is Wisdom.

b. Caft out the Scorner, and Contention fhall go out; yea, Strife, and Reproach shall cease. For fcornful Men bring a City into a Snare; but wife Men turn away Wrath.

c. From whence come Wars, and Fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your Lufts, that War in your Members ?

d. He loveth Tranfgreffion, that loveth Strife.

e. It is an honour for a Man to ceafe from Strife; but every Fool will be meddling.

f. The Lot causeth Contentions to cease, and parteth between the Mighty.

g. Whereas, there is among you, Envying, and Strife, and Divifions, are ye not Carnal, and walk as Men? then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but Minifters, by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every Man?

a. If ye have bitter Envying, and Strife in your Hearts, glory not: For, this Wildom defcendeth not from above, but is earthly, fenfual, devilish: But the Wifdom that is from above, is peaceable, gentle, and cafe to be entreated.

4. He that is Faithful in that which is leaft, is Faithful alfo in much; and he that is Unjuft in the least, is unjust also in much. If, therefore, ye have not been Faithful in the unrighteous Mammon, who will commit to your trust the true Riches?

a. He that doth Wrong, fhall receive for the Wrong which he hath done. As he hath done, it shall be done unto him; bis Reward shall return upon his own Head.
