Second. The remission of sins is taught by this rite, Acts ii. 28. Third. Salvation through Christ is taught. 1 Peter iii. 21.

Fifth. Baptism teaches us that Christ is our spiritual covering. Gal. iii. 27.

II. The obligations which baptism enforces, are
