Just as I am,-Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come.

Just as I am,—of that free love

The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,

Here for a season, then above

O Lamb of God, I come. Amen.
"That rock was Christ."

392 ROCK of ages! cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;
Let the water and the blood,
From Thy side, a healing flood,
Be of sin the double cure,
Save from wrath, and make me pure.

Should my tears for ever flow,
Should my zeal no languor know,
This for sin could not atone,
Thou must save, and Thou alone;
In my hand no price I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling.

While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyelids close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown,
And behold Thee on Thy throne,-
Rock of ages! cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee!

Amen.

"I flee unto Thee to hide me."

393 JESU, lover of my soul,
Let me to Thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll,
While the tempest still is high:
Hide me, O my Saviour, hide,
Till the storm of life be past;
Safe into the haven guide,
O receive my soul at last.

Other refuge have I none,

Hangs my helpless soul on Thee:
Leave, ah! leave me not alone,
Still support and comfort me:
All my trust on Thee is stay'd;
All my help from Thee I bring;
Cover my defenceless head

With the shadow of Thy wing.

Plenteous grace with Thee is found,
Grace to cover all my sin;
Let the healing streams abound,
Make and keep me pure within:
Thou of life the fountain art,
Freely let me take of Thee:
Spring Thou up within my heart,
Rise to all eternity. Amen.

"Whom have I in Heaven but Thee."

394 JESUS, my Saviour! look on me, For I am weary and opprest;

I come to cast myself on Thee:
Thou art my Rest.

Look down on me, for I am weak,
I feel the toilsome journey's length;
Thine aid omnipotent I seek:
Thou art my Strength.

I am bewilder'd on my way,

Dark and tempestuous is the night; O send Thou forth some cheering ray Thou art my Light.

When Satan flings his fiery darts,
I look to Thee: my terrors cease;
Thy cross a hiding-place imparts:
Thou art my Peace.

Standing alone on Jordan's brink,
In that tremendous latest strife,
Thou wilt not suffer me to sink:
Thou art my Life.

Thou wilt my every want supply,
E'en to the end whate'er befall;
Through life, in death, eternally,
Thou art my All. Amen.

"O praise the Lord of heaven."

411 YE boundless realms of joy, Exalt your Maker's fame,

His praise your song employ
Above the starry frame:
Your voices raise,

Ye cherubim

And seraphim,

To sing His praise.

Thou moon, that rul'st the night,
And sun, that guid'st the day,
Ye glittering stars of light,
To Him your homage pay:
His praise declare,

Ye heavens above,

And clouds that move
In liquid air.

Let them adore the Lord,
And praise His holy Name,
By Whose almighty Word
They all from nothing came;
And all shall last

From changes free;
His firm decree

Stands ever fast. Amen.

"Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord.'

419 BEGIN, my soul, th' exalted lay; Let each enraptured thought obey,

And praise th' Almighty's name:

Let heaven and earth, and seas and skies;
In one melodious concert rise,

To swell th' inspiring theme.

Ye angels, catch the thrilling sound,
While all th' adoring thrones around
His boundless mercy sing;
Let every listening saint above
Wake all the tuneful soul of love,
And touch the sweetest string.

Whate'er this living world contains,
That wings the air or treads the plains,
United praise bestow:

Ye tenants of the ocean wide,
Proclaim Him through the mighty tide,
And in the deeps below.

Let man, by nobler passions sway'd,
The feeling heart, the judging head,
In heavenly praise employ;

Spread His tremendous name around,
Till heav'n's broad arch rings back the sound,
The general burst of joy. Amen.

"The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy."

422 SONGS of praise the angels sang; Heaven with Alleluias rang,

When JEHOVAH'S work begun,

When He spake and it was done.
