So that, although Christ said, “No man can come unto me except the Father, which hath sent me, draw him ;" and St. Paul says, "No man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost";" yet, as Christ, "who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us," hath said, "I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter that He may abide with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth," "he will guide you into all truth"; "if a man love me, he will keep my words: and

Father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our abode with him;" and as "the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered;" "let us draw near in full assurance of faith1;" let us draw nigh to GOD, and He will draw nigh to us m.

"Seeing, then, that we have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need"." Christ has left us "an example that we should follow His steps";" and "GOD is faithful, who will not suffer us to be tempted above that we are able, but will, with the temptation, also make a way to escape, that we may be able to bear it P." Christ, "in that He himself hath suffered, being tempted, is able to succour them that are tempted 9."

We are told to "pray without ceasing";" to continue "instant in prayer," "praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit," "fervent in spirit "."
