FOR I the Lord will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

ISAIAH xli, 13.

HAPPY are the servants of the Lord whom He

has called to be His friends, and to walk

with Him in faith and holy obedience.

Why is my heart with grief opprest?
Can all the pain I feel or fear
Make thee, my soul, forget thy rest,

Forget that God, Thy God, is near?

JUNE 11.-St. Barnabas.

WHATSOEVER ye shall ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it you.

ST. JOHN XV, 16.

THE kind act for a sick neighbour, the patience with the fretful little child, the gentle word

and the bright smile; these are things which, if given for the sake of Christ, "in no wise lose their reward."

OH, fellow Christian, whosoe'er thou art,

This is for thee and me;

This holy trust, that maketh glad the heart
In all adversity.

Trust therefore, and so bear a braver part,

For as thy days thy strength shall be.

I MUST work the works of Him that sent Me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. ST. JOHN ix, 4.

WE

E must be busy and not waste day-time; it will be time to rest when our day is done, for it is but a day.

IF life be long, oh make us glad

The longer to obey;

If short, no labourer is sad

To end his toilsome day.

ALL Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

2 TIM. iii, 16.

NEVER read the Word of God in order to appear more learned or more wise than

others.

OH book! infinite sweetness! let my heart
Suck every letter, and a honey gain;
Precious for any grief in any part,

To clear the breast, to mittify all pain.

́HEREFORE gird up the loins of your mind,

WH

be sober, and hope to the end.

I PETER i, 13.

BE

E sober-minded in opinion as well as in practice, and humble in your judgment of others.

LORD, let me cast all thought of care
For worldly things on Thee;

Thankful that Thou such weight will bear
For one, who has small time to spare
For aught, but holy strife and prayer,
Thine evermore to be.
