THE Editor desires to thank the Ven. Archdeacon Wordsworth, the Rev. Sir H. W. Baker, Bart., the Rev. Dr. Irons, the Rev. Dr. H. Bonar, the Rev. W. W. How, the Rev. F. Caswall, the Rev. L. Tuttiett, W. Chatterton Dix, Esq., Miss F. E. Cox, and Miss C. Winkworth, for kindly allowing him to use their hymns in this collection.
He has also to thank Messrs. Longman for permitting him to print the hymns taken from the Lyra Germanica; Messrs. Novello, for the Rev. Dr. Neale's Translations in Hymns Ancient and Modern; Mr. Burns, for Hymns 8, 77, 101, 114, 208, 211, 265; and Mr. Hayes, for Hymns 14, 82, from the Hymns of the Eastern Church.
For the rest, the Editor begs to acknowledge generally his obligations to all those authors and compilers of whose works he has availed himself, and to apologise if he has unintentionally infringed upon any copyright.
