Mr. VALENTI. For that, Senator, I am greatly cheered.
Senator MAGNUSON. Any further questions?

Senator GRIFFIN. No, thank you, Mr. Chairman.

Senator MAGNUSON. All right, we will leave the record open for a few days so that any members of the Board that wish to add something will have the opportunity to place it in the record.

The committee will act on the nominations as soon as possible. And then, of course, they will go to the floor of the Senate. And being engaged in a matter on the floor of the Senate that seems to supersede everything else, consequently, if you are not brought up for Senate confirmation as soon as you think you should be, do not think there is anything wrong, particularly with you individually as nominees. It is merely the legislative situation.

But we will expedite this. And as I understand it, Dr. Killian, you expect to have some early, preliminary meetings of the Board. And as I pointed out to you, on the question of the appropriation, it will be handled in the manner I suggested earlier.

So we thank you all for coming, and we appreciate your dedication to serve on this very, very important board.

Thank you so much.

(Whereupon, at 10:45 o'clock a.m., the committee adjourned.)
