Fund for Armed Services Activities

The thousands of Christian Scientists in the Armed Forces, who are serving their respective countries throughout the world, are being helped by The Mother Church through the Fund for Armed Services Activities.

The scope of the work is great. The Mother Church has Christian Science Ministers and other Field workers placed in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and other countries. These workers conduct Christian Science services, give treatments, and visit and work with those in veterans' hospitals who seek and rely wholly on Christian Science for healing. They contact the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who indicate Christian Science as their religious preference, giving them Small Pocket Edition sets of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. In the case of young recruits, they help them adjust to their military experience. Quantities of Christian Science literature are distributed by the Field workers to the Armed Forces personnel.

This important work is financed by members and friends of The Mother Church through the Fund for Armed Services Activities. During the past year over $590,000 was expended from this Fund for carrying on this activity.

Contributions are welcome and should be sent to Roy GARRETT WATSON, Treasurer, Christian Science Center, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. A. 02115.
