Q. What is the third Duty you promifed at your Baptism to do?

A. To keep God's holy Will and Commandments, and to walk in the fame all the Days of my Life.

Q. What Proof have you of your being obliged to this?

A. From Matt. xxviii. 20. "Teaching "them to obferve all things whatsoever I have commanded you."

Eph. ii. 10. "We are his workmanfhip, created in Chrift Jefus unto good "works, which God hath before ordained "that we should walk in them."

Father, that he hath called me to this State of Salvation, through Jefus Chrift our Saviour. And I pray unto God to give me his Grace, that I may continue in the fame unto my Life's end.

Q Why do you think yourfelf bound to believe and do what your Godfathers and Godmothers promifed for you?

A. Becaufe they acted in my ftead, and what they promised was in my Name.

Q. Are you refolved to do what they promifed for you?

A. Yes, by God's Help; for otherwise I fhall forfeit the Bleffings of that State which I was by my Baptifm admitted into. Q. What is that State?

A. It is a State of Salvation.

Q. Why do you call it a State of Salvation?

A. Becaufé I have thereby all the Means neceffary to Salvation.

Q. How do you prove this from Scrip

ture?

A. From Rom. i. 16. "The gospel is "the power of God unto falvation, unte 66 every one that believeth."

2 Tim. iii. 15.. "From a child thou hak known the holy fcriptures, which are ** able to make thee wife unto falvation:"

A. Our heavenly Father called me to r through Jefus Chrift our Saviour, and instated me into it by Baptifm.

Of the CREED; particularly what we are to believe concerning GOD the Father, QTHE Second Thing you promifed, was to believe all the Articles of the Chriftian Faith; What do you mean by Articles of the Chriftian Faith?

A. I thereby mean fuch Points of the Doctrine revealed by Chrift, and contained in the holy Scriptures, as are most neceffary to be believed.

A. In the Apoftles Creed.
