His Care of his Church.

If. xl. 11. He shall feed his flock like a fhepherd: He shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bofom; and fhall gently lead those that are with young.

If. xlii. 3. A bruised reed fhall he not break, and the fmoking flax fhall he not quench: He fhall bring forth judgment unto truth.

XIX. PROMISES of the SPIRIT.

Prov. i. 23. Behold I will pour out my Spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

I. xxxii. 15. Until the Spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field.

If. lix. 21. This is my covenant with them, faith the LORD, My Spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, fhall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy feed, nor out of the mouth of thy feed's feed, faith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Ezek. xxxvi. 27. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my ftatutes, and ye fhall keep my judgments, and do them.

Luke xi. 13. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more fhall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to

them that ask him?

John iv. 10. Jefus anfwered and faid unto her, If thou kneweft the gift of GOD, and who it is that faith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have afked of him, and he would have given thee living

water.

Ver. 14. Whofoever drinketh of the water that I fhall give him, fhall never thirst; but the water that I fhall give him, fhall be in him a well of water fpringing up into everlasting life.

GOD hath revealed them to us by his Spirit, for the Spirit fear cheth all things, yea, the deep things of GOD.

John xvi. 13. When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.

1 John ii. 27. But the anointing which you have received of him, abideth in you: and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the fame. anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Prayer.

Zech. xii. 10. I will pour upon the houfe of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerufalem, the Spirit of grace, and of fupplications.

Rom. viii. 15. Ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Ver. 26. The Spirit helpeth our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for as we ought; but the Spirit itself maketh interceffion for us, with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Ver. 27. And he that fearcheth the hearts, knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh interceffion for the faints, according to the will of God.

Eph. i. 13. After that ye believed, ye were fealed with that Holy Spirit of promife.

Ver. 14. Which is the earnest of our inheritance, until the redemption of the purchafed poffeffion, unto the praise of his glory.

Eph. iv. 30. Grieve not the Holy Spirit of GOD, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Rom. xiv. 17. The kingdom of GOD is not meat and drink, but righteousness and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

XX. Of the MINISTRY of ANgels.

Pf. xxxiv. 7. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Pf. xci. 11. He fhall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Ver. 12. They fhall bear thee up in their hands, left thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Matt. xviii. 10. Take heed that ye defpife not one of thefe little ones, for I fay unto you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Heb. i. 14. Are they not all miniftering fpirits, fent forth to minifter for them who fhall be heirs of falvation?

XXI. That we shall be KINGS and PRIESTS unto GOD.

Exod. xix. 6. Ye fhall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.

1 Pet. ii. 9. Ye are a chofen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye fhould fhew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

Rev. i. 6. And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father.

Rev. i. 6. And hath made us unto our God kings and priests, and we fhall reign on the earth.
