SECT. IV. p. 78.-The Deity of JESUS CHRIST further proved from twenty-six arguments, formed by comparing one text with another, whereby it appears, that all the names, tilles, perfections, works, and worship ascribed to the Supreme Being are attributed to him: and sixteen arguments deduced in the same manner, to prove the Deity of the HOLY GHOST.-Ideas implied in the phrase SPIRIT-JEHOVAH.
SECT. V. p. 95.-A further illustration of the proper Deity of Jesus Christ, from the scope of several passages of scripture.As he made all things, he must govern them.-Revelation a history of the church. He who appeared in the old testament is called GOD, JEHOVAH, &C.-That it was Christ, a general argument for. SECT. III. p. 173.-Christ called son of man, why.-Common reasons defective.-Others so called, why.-Christ called Son of God, importance of,-The meaning-denotes excellencyrespects his offices-put for Messiah.-Ten arguments to prove his sonship to be economical. 1. From the various ideas of sonship, as derivation, subordination, dependence, submission, a distinct being, building his Father's house, transmitting his name to posterity. The name of God represented by the life of Christ. 2. As son of man notes relation to man; his being called Son of God, points out his sublime relation to God. 3. From the meaning of old testament passages, where he is called Son. Psa. ii. 7. particularly considered-Not applied to Christ's resurrection in the new testament. 4. From texts in the new testament, that are exegetic of the term Son of God. 5. From the same things being predicated of him under the name Jesus Christ, as under the title Son of God.-Head of the church, all things made and upheld by him, sent, born of the virgin, author of the gospel, his faith justifies sinners, his blood made peace, object of faith, fellowship with him, died, rose from the dead, was exalted, shall judge the world.-The apostles expressly affirm that Jesus Christ is the Son of God-Not figurative expressions. 6. From the character he takes to himself when inditing the epistles to the seven Asian churches. 7. From his being called the image of the invisible God,--as he is man, as EMANUEL,-in his dominion as God's ambassador and representative. 8. From the necessity of believing in him, as the Son of God.-All religion practical,-no mysteries in things necessary,-economical sonship clear. 9. There must be that in his sonship directly suitable to the sinful state of
mankind.-Pure Deity has no relation to mankiud.-All we know of God in Christ.--God out of Christ not scripture doctrine. 10. Sonship of Christ the ground of our adoption;necessary sonship makes our's so,-destroys the sovereign love of God.-No analogy betwixt saints' sonship, and a necessary sonship in Christ.—Objection from the difference between Christ as a Son, and a servant, answered. Called a servant, how.— Absolute Deity has no relation to creatures.-We should not too critically distinguish the names and titles of Christ. SECT. IV. p. 223.-Of the title WORD as applied to Christ.— Schoolmen's notions void of ideas :-in what sense applied in several texts.-The meaning of the term LOGOS,-economically used throughout the scriptures.-By it the Jews meant the Messiah.
SECT. 5. p. 235.-The term Holy Ghost economical.--Proofs for eternal procession considered.-Procession from the Son rejected. INTRODUCT. p. 261.-Inventions of men useless in religion.Their opinions made the standard of the sense of scripture.—

SECT. I. p. 271.-1. Of the terms First, Second, and Third-no foundation in scripture for.-The terms edifying in an economical sense. The order of operation does not teach the order of subsistence-If so, the Arians right. —Bad effects of such doctrine. 2. No such different internal distinctions as the scheme asserts. Contrary to the sameness of perfection.-Communication implies mutability and derivation.-A derived being a mere creature. SECT. II. p. 280.-Common notion of Christ's sonship considered. Six arguments against. 1. Term God generally includes the divine three.-Difficulty in the common scheme.-Arian doctrine in it. 2. SECT. III. p. 299.-The general arguments in favor of the systematic doctrine of the Trinity, especially eternal generation, particularly answered.
SECT. IV. p. 320.-Passages from both the old and new testament alledged in favor of the human scheme, and particularly eternal generation, fully considered; and the whole shewed to be in favor of the economical characters of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
