CERTIFICATE OF BARLEY CROP.

JULY 29, 1850.

This is to certify, that on the 25th of June last, I measured a lot of Barley for Samuel Dallas, of Greene county, Ohio, containing six

Before me, a Justice of the Peace in and for said county, personally came Washington Galloway, and made oath, that on the 25th day of June, A. D. 1850, he surveyed for Samuel Dallas, of Greene county, Ohio, a tract of land on the farm of said Dallas, in said county, which had been tilled in Barley, and just harvested when said survey was made-and that the same contained 6 acres, 11,33% poles.

Samuel Dallas, being duly sworn, says that he raised a crop of Barley the past season, upon the land surveyed by Washington Galloway, and that the quantity of grain raised thereon was three hundred eighty-six bushels, weight measure, and that Alexander

Ruff and William Bradfute were conversant with the harvesting of said crop, and that the statement annexed, subscribed by this deponent, as to the manner of cultivation, expenses, &c., is in all respects true to the best of his knowledge and belief, and that the sample of the grain exhibited, is a fair average sample of the whole crop.

Alexander Ruff and William Bradfute, being duly sworn, say they were conversant with the harvesting of the crop of Barley, of Samuel Dallas, referred to in the above affidavit; that they assisted in measuring the same, together with the ground producing it, and that the quantity of grain was three hundred and eighty-six bushels, as stated in the affidavit of Samuel Dallas.

Statement of Samuel Dallas, applicant for premium on his crop of Barley, produced from 6 acres 1133 poles; average product per acre 63 bushels, 2 pecks, 2 quarts, 1 pint.

No manure.

1. The previous crop was a crop of corn.
2. The soil is a black loam, surface rolling.
3. Two bushels of seed (fall barley) per acre.

4. Sowed September 15th, 1849, harvested June 20th, 1850, threshed and cleaned, October 23d, by Pitts' Thresher and Separator. Measured 386 bushels; sold at 60 cents per bushel. The land has been under cultivation for 48 years; rotation of crops, corn, clover, wheat, &c.

Before me, the undersigned, a Justice of the Peace in and for said county, personally appeared Cornelius G. Terwilleger, who made solemn oath, that he and Moses Berry measured for Edmund R. Glenn, in the month of June last, with a surveyor's chain, one acre of Barley; said acre of Barley was measured in an oblong piece, viz: twenty rods long by eight wide, running east and west for length, and north and south for width.
