amount of native talent. A very pretty variety of daguerreotypes by A. Fletcher--a member-many of them very good-diplomas awarded.

The address of Judge Cock was very short, but full of practical good sense. If the views entertained and promulgated in it, could be impressed upon the agriculturists and mechanics of Stark county, they could not fail to be of lasting benefit to them and their children.

At the close of the address, the reports of the committees were read by D. Jarvis, Esq; the diplomas, etc., awarded, and the premiums paid in American coin. It was gratifying indeed, to see the people's own money thus distributed among them as rewards of merit. From the interest manifested by the officers and members, and especially by the ladies, in this, our first annual Fair, we confidently look forward to the coming annual Fairs of the Society, as a fruitful source of pleasure and profit. The mingling together of the intelligent and enterprizing portions of the people from all parts of the county in social converse, giving and receiving the different views of each other upon agriculture, manufactures and the arts; reviving in many cases, old friendships long estranged, cannot fail, if properly appreciated, to be a lasting source of happiness, and become an annual jubilee, not so renowned, but vastly more useful than the Olympic Games

of ancient Greece.

TRUMBULL COUNTY.

Secretary of the State Board of Agriculture:

DEAR SIR-I send you herewith, something of the doings of the Agricultural Society of this county for the past year, in order to obtain the certificate for the money from the Agricultural Fund, which please forward. The report is imperfect, owing to J. H. Baldwin, the Secretary, being Assistant Marshal, and not keeping the record per

`fect; further, we have not yet settled with the Treasurer, that being postponed to a future meeting. We hope, however, that it may prove acceptable.

Most respectfully yours,

JUNIUS DANA, Secretary.
