5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil. 6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul. 7 Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God. 8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? 9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back this I know; for God is for me. 10 In God I will praise his word; in the Lord will I praise his word. 11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. 12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee. 13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death; wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living? PSALM LVII. E merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me; for my soul trusteth BE thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. 2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. 3 He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selab. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. 4 My soul is among lions; and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. 5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth. • 6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise. 8 Awake up, my glory; awake psaltery and harp; I myself will awake early. 9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people; I will sing unto thee among the nations: 10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. 11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth. PSALM LVIII. O ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men ? Do 2 Yea, in heart you work wickedness; you weigh the violence of your hands in the earth. 3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. 4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; they are like the deaf adder, that stoppeth her ear; 5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely. 6 Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth; break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord, 7 Let them melt away as waters which run continally: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces. them, that they may not be; and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah. 14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. 15 Let them wander up and down for meat and grudge if they be not satisfied. 16 But I will sing of thy power: yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. 17 Unto thee, O my strength, I will sing; for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy. PSALM LX. GOD, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again. O 2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble: thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh. 3 Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine astonishment. Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah. 5 That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me. 6 God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. 7 Gilead is mine, and Manassah is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; 8 Moab is my wash pot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me. 9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom? 10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies? 11 Give us help from trouble; for vain is the help of man. 12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies. H PSALM LXI. EAR my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. |
