8 O taste and see that the Lord is good : blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him,

10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger: they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

11 Come ye children, hearken unto me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.

16 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

20 He keepeth all his bones; not one of them is broken.

21 Evil shall slay the wicked; and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. 22 The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants; and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

MORNING PRAYER.

PSALM XXXV.

PLEAD my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me; fight against

them that fight against me.

2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.

3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion tha

devise my hurt.

23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.

24 Judge me, O Lord my God, according to thy righteousness: and let them not rejoice over me.

25 Let them not say in their hearts, Aha, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

26 Let them be ashamed, and brought to confusion together, that rejoice at my hurt: let them be cloathed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against

me.

27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause; yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

28 And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness, and of thy praise, all the day long.

PSALM XXXVI.

HE transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear od before his eyes.

2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens, and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

7 How excellent is thy loving-kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings,

8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

10 O continue thy loving kindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against

me, and let not the hand of the wicked re

move me,

12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

EVENING PRAYER.

PSALM XXXVII.

RET not thyself because of evil doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord: trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.

6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the
