To the brethren scattered abroad, Greetings.

Since issuing our invitation to the brethren to attend the Fraternal Gathering at Washington, D. C., May 30 and 31, 1914, we must say that we have had a very enthusiastic and hearty response to the same.

The plan for the accommodation of the brethren at a comfortable hotel, each bearing his own expense, and the arrangement with one place to accommodate all, thus procuring special reduced rates, have met with an almost unqualified approval. This relieves Fraternal Gatherings of the financial burden, as well as allowing each one to be his own free agent to arise, retire, and refresh himself to suit his own physical need or comfort.

We wish to say to the brethren that we welcome all to the Lord's Table who stand on the Christadelphian or unamended Birmingham Statement of Faith.

Begin now to prepare to come! We expect to have with us Brothers A. H. Zilmer, John W. Lea, Albert Hall, as well as other well-known brethren, and we feel that our time will be well spent for coming together.

Looking forward to a feast of spiritual edification and consolation in Christ Jesus, we remain,

Special to Subscribers

Declarations for free distribution

Through the generosity of a brother who has paid the cost of 1000 copies of The Declaration we have on hand for free distribution 500 copies. The brother wished us to place them where they would do good, so we are asking our subscribers to help us. We have sent 500 where we feel they will do good, and we ask you to send us one or several names and addresses, and we will send to as many as the supply holds out for. Of course, these are not intended for persons already in the truth, but if you have friends who are interested, or whom you wish to get interested, send along the names and addresses right away.

It

This is an excellent way to spread the truth. has been the standard work of moderate size dealing with first principles for more than forty years. Many I owe their start on the right path to its simple but forcible setting forth of the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ.

In conjunction with this we will accept special orders for The Faith to be sent for six months for 25 cents to each address, as a useful means of following up the work.

Do it now!

THE COMING NATION, THAT IS, THE KINGDOM OF GOD

S. T. BLESSING

Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, dreamed, and his dream troubled him to the extent that he offered rewards and great honors to the one who would make known to him the dream, and show the interpretation. The wisdom of Babylon was not equal to the task; but Daniel prayed to the God of heaven that He would reveal to him and his fellows the secret, and his prayer was answered; and when brought before the king he said, "There is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. . . The dream is certain and the interpretation thereof sure."

He then proceeded to show that the great image that the king had seen in his dream represented in their successive order and character several empires, namely, the Babylonian, MedoPersian, Grecian, and Roman. In fulfilment of the interpretation, these empires one after the other bare rule over all the then known earth, and their history has been written. But the king saw further that a stone was cut out of the mountain, without hands, smote the image and destroyed it, and the stone became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. This stone kingdom is a fifth, which has not yet come into existence, but just as certain as the dream is true, and the interpretation thereof sure, it will be set up. Daniel portrayed this before the king in these words, "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but

it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever" (Dan. 2: 44). And on another occasion, speaking further concerning this same stone kingdom, Daniel says, "I saw in the night visions, and behold One like the Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven (note these clouds of heaven are no doubt the immortal hosts that will be with Christ in the setting up of the kingdom), and came to the Ancient of Days and they brought Him near before Him. And there was given Him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages should serve Him; His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. . . . And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him" (Dan. 7: 13, 14, 27).

These Scriptures plainly, beyond the shadow of a doubt, teach the setting up and establishing of the Kingdom of God that will not pass away—that is, will not be subdued and succeeded by another as each of the previous kingdoms was (also that the individual rulers, being immortal, will have no successors), but which shall stand forever. Moreover, it is to be a universal empire, for "all dominions shall serve and obey Him."

The prophet Zechariah, in speaking of this kingdom, says, "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem; behold thy King cometh unto thee. . . and His dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth" (Zech. 9: 9, 10). And the Spirit, speaking through David, says in the second Psalm, "I set My King upon My holy hill of Zion, I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art My Son, this day have I begotten Thee. Ask of Me, and I will give Thee the heathen (nations) for Thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel."

In fulfilment of the promise made to David that he should have a Son who should have universal dominion, when the angel appeared to Mary to announce the birth of Jesus the message was in these words, "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give
