THE MINUTES are distributed to the churches according to the action of the General Association as found on p. 13.

It is requested that the clerk of each church retain one copy to be preserved with the records of the church, and that the other copies be disposed of in the way most likely to promote the design of the General Association in ordering the distribution.

THE GENERAL ASSOCIATION OF CONNECTICUT held its one hundred and fifty-third annual meeting, at the house of Rev. Joseph Anderson, in Norwalk, on Tuesday, June 17, 1862.

Organization.

The Association was called to order at 11, a. m., by Rev. Joseph Anderson. Rev. Frederick D. Avery was chosen Scribe, Rev. Joseph Eldridge, D.D., Moderator, and Rev. Ebenezer W. Robinson, Assistant Scribe.

Prayer was offered by the Moderator.

Committee of overtures and nominations.

A committee of overtures and nominations was chosen by ballot, consisting of Rev. Messrs. T. P. Field, D.D., E. R. Beadle, J. Brace, D.D., N. Porter, Jr., D.D., R. G. Vermilye, D.D.

Distribution of the revised Digest.

Voted, That each member of the district Associations shall be entitled to a copy of the "Digest of the Rules and Usages of the Consociations and Associations of Connecticut," which has lately been compiled.

After recess, on nomination of the committee of overtures and nominations, the following committees were appointed:

Lay delegation.

The committee appointed last year, on "lay delegates," made their report, which was accepted; and a resolution embraced in it, together with an overture from Fairfield West, was referred to a committee, consisting of Rev. Messrs. S. G. Willard, E. L. Cleaveland, D.D., L. Curtis.

Everest Fund.

The Trustees of the Everest Fund presented their report, which was accepted and approved, and ordered to be printed with the minutes. (Report II.)

Publishing societies and home evangelization.

The committee appointed last year, on "The relation of religious publishing societies to the work of home evangelization," made their report, which was accepted.
