Vigour and ftrength to all my holy purposes and refolutions;

Comfort and fupport under all the afflic tions and calamities of life;

Affiftance and directions under all difficulties and doubts;

Courage and conftancy under all dangers and perfecutions, especially in times of ficknefs, and at the hour of death.

Finally, let it procure for me pardon and forgiveness in this life, mercy and favour at the day of judgment, and a never-fading crown of glory in thy heavenly kingdom; where with thy fon Jefus Christ, and the bleffed fpirit, thou liveft and reigneft one God world without end.

Directions.

When all have communicated, and the minifter returns to the remaining part of the communion office, (by fome called the poft communion) be fure you be not unready to join with him; nay, though you fhoula not have ended your private devotions, yet break them off, tho' in the middle, and join with the publick ones, for that is better, and your Duty; and go on with him in heart till he has made an end.

Lord's table, and reverently place upon it what remaineth of the confecrated elements, covering the fame with a fair linen cloth.

¶Then fhall the priest say the Lord's prayer, the people repeating af er him every petition.

Our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven: give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trefpafles, as we forgive them that trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

¶ After shall be faid as followeth :

The Minister.

O Lord and heavenly father, we thy humble fervants entirely defire thy fatherly goodness mercifully to accept this our facrifice of praife and thankfgiving; moft humbly befeeching thee to grant, that by the merits and death of thy fon Jefus Chrift, and thro' faith in his blood, we and all thy whole church may obtain remiffion of our fins, and all other benefits of his paffion. And here we offer and prefent unto thee, O Lord, ourselves, our fouls and bo dies, to be a reasonable, holy, and lively facrifice unto thee, humbly beseeching thee, that all we who are par takers of this holy communion, may be filled with thy grace and heavenly benediction. And although we be unworthy, through our manifold fins, to offer unto thee any facrifice, yet we beseech thee to accept this our bounden duty and fervice; not weighing our merits, but par doning our offences, through Jefus Christ our Lord; by whom, and with whom, in the unity of the holy ghost, all honour and glory be unto thee, O father almighty, world without end. Amen.

Almighty and everliving God, we most heartily thank thee, for that thou doft vouchfafe to feed us, who have duly received these holy myfteries, with the fpiritual food* of the most precious body and blood of thy fon our Saviour Jefus Chrift; and doft affure us thereby of thy favour and goodness towards us, and that we are very members incorporate in the mystical body of thy fon, which is the bleffed company of all faithful people; and are also heirs through hope of thy everlafting kingdom, by the merits of the moft precious death and paffion of thy dear fon. And we moft humbly befeech thee, O heavenly father, so to affift us with thy grace, that we may continue in thy holy fellowship, and do all fuch good works as thou haft prepared for us to walk in, through Jefus Chrift our Lord; to whom with thee, and the holy ghoft, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

Glory be to God on high, and in earth peace, good will towards men. We praise thee, we blefs thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee, we give thanks unto thee for thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly king, God the father almighty.

O Lord, the only-begotten fon Jefu Chrift: O Lord God, Lamb of God, fon of the father, that takest away the fins of the world, have mercy upon us; thou that takest away the fins of the world, have mercy upon us; thou that takest away the fins of the world, receive our prayers; thou that sitteft at the right-hand of God the father, have mercy upon us.

For thou only art holy, thou only art the Lord, thou only, O Chrift, with the holy ghost, art most high in the glory of God the father. Amen.

The peace of God which paffeth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his fon Jefus Christ our Lord; and the bleffing of God almighty, the father, the son, and the holy ghost,.be amongst you, and remain with you always. Amen.

Let this day, O my God, be noted in the book of life.-Forget not my prayers, O Lord, nor let my coldness and wanderings, and infinite unworthiness turn them into fin.-Lord

Lord, now letteft thou thy fervant depart in peace, according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen thy falvation. Luke ii. 29. O Lord, refreshed with this heavenly banquet of thy son's inftitution, I have fealed my repentance, and flee unto thee for pardon for all thofe imperfections that have accompanied me at this time, in my attendance at thy altar; forgive the deadnefs and dulnefs of my affections, the wanderings of my thoughts, and distractions of my mind; let the fincerity of my holy purposes and refolutions be accepted, notwithstanding my weakness and frailty

Oh! let this commemoration of my crucified Saviour influence all my thoughts, words, and actions, that my converfation may be as becometh the gospel of Chrift. Reward me not according to my deferts, but according to my great neceffities, and thine own rich mercies. in Jefus Chrift; to whom with thee, O God the father, and God the holy ghoft, be all honour and glory, world without end. Directions.

Now arifing, depart reverently from the Lord's table with aglad heart and chearful countenance: preferve good thoughts in your mind; behave with gravity, yet be not fullen or morofe; for a chriftian's behaviour hould not be without innocent alacrity or chearfulness.
