OUTLOOK

A DIGEST OF IDEAS AND IDEALS

A NEW OUTLOOK

FOR

WORLD BROTHERHOOD

With this issue, the NEW OUTLOOK enters its tenth year. During the decade since it first appeared, it has surveyed the world of ideas and ideals and has brought to its readers a digest of those things it has found which it deemed good and worthy, so that its new readers might know its interests and for what it stands, we print here a platform-in-summary:

RELIGION, to satisfy the heart and mind of man today, must include a more complete philosophy of nature and of life than it has heretofore. Blind faith, ritualism and dogmatism, are idolatrous in nature and a carry-over from primitive and mediaeval ages. PHILOSOPHY, to have a permanent appeal, must not depend upon mere speculation, but must be supported by reason and demonstrated facts of science.

SCIENCE, to be true to its purpose, must expand its outlook beyond sensory perception, beyond the materialistic concept of laws and forces of nature. Science must extend its investigation into the hidden, spiritual and psychic powers and functions in man.
