For God, who is our Sun and Shield,-
will Grace and Glory give;
And no good Thing will he with-hold
from them that justly live.

PSALM LXXXIV. O. V.

I HOW pleafant is thy Dwelling-Place, O Lord of Hofts, to me?

The Tabernacles of thy Grace, how pleasant, Lord, they be! 2 My Soul doth long full fore to go into thy Courts abroad; My heart and Flesh cry out also for thee the living God.

3 O they be bleffed that may dwell
within thy House always:

For they all Times thy Facts do tell,
and ever give thee Praise.

4 Yea, happy fure likewise are they,
whofe Stay and Strength thou art :
Who to thy House do mind the Way,
and feek it in their Heart.

5 From Strength to Strength they go full faft, no Faintness there shall be:

And fo the God of God's at laft in Sion they do fee.

PSALM. XCI.

ISO teach us, Lord, th' uncertain Sum of our fhort Days to mind;

That to true Wisdom all our Hearts may ever be inclin’d.

2 O to thy Servants, Lord, return,
and speedily relent!

As we of our Mitdeeds, do thou
of our juft Doom, repent.

3 To fatisfy and cheer our Souls,
thy early Mercy send;

That we may all our Days to come,
in Joy and Comfort spend.
4 Let happy Times with large Amends
dry up our former Tears;
Or equal at the least the Term
of our afflicted Years.

5 To all thy Servants, Lord, let this
thy wond'rous Work be known;
And to our Offspring yet unborn,
thy glorious Pow'r be shown.
6 Let thy bright Rays upon us fhine,
give thou our Work Success;
The glorious Work we have in Hand,
do thou vouchsafe to bless.

PSALM XCII.

HOW good and pleasant must it be to thank the Lord most high!

And with repeated Hymns of Praise, his Name to magnify!

2 With ev'ry Morning's early Dawn, his Goodness to relate;

And of his conftant 'Truth each Night, the glad Effects repeat.

3 To ten-ftring'd Inftruments we'll fing, with tuneful Pfalt'ries join'd;

And

And to the Harp, with folemn Sounds, for facred Ufe defign'd.

4 For thro' thy wond'rous Works, O Lord, thou mak'ft my Heart rejoice;

The Thoughts of them fhall make me glad, and fhout with cheerful Voice.

PSALM XCIII.

I WITH Glory clad, withStrength array'd,

the Lord, that o'er all Nature reigns, The World's Foundation ftrongly laid, and the vast Fabric ftill fuftains. 2 How fure establish'd is thy Throne, which fhall no C'hange or Period fee! For thou, O Lord, and thou alone, art God from all Eternity.

3 The Floods, O Lord, lift up their Voice, and tofs the troubled Waves on high; But God above can ftill their Noise, and make the angry Sea comply.

4 Thy Promife, Lord, is ever fure

;

and they that in thy House would dwell, That happy Station to secure,

muft ftill in Holinefs excel.

PSALM XCV.

Come, loud Anthems let us fing, Loud Thanks to our almighty King, For we our Voices high fhould raise, When our Salvation's Rock we praise.

2 Into his Presence let us hafte,
To thank him for his Favours paft:
To him addrefs, in joyful Songs,
The Praise that to his Name belongs.
For God the Lord, enthron'd in State,
Is, with unrivall❜d Glory, great;

3

A King fuperior far to all,

Whom, by his Title, God we call.
4 The Depths of Earth are in his Hand,
Her fecret Wealth at his Command;
The Strength of Hills, that reach the Skies,
Subjected to his Empire lies.

5 The rolling Ocean's vaft Abyss
By the fame fov'reign Right is his;
'Tis mov'd by his almighty Hand,
That form'd and fix'd the folid Land.
6 O let us to his Courts repair,
And bow with Adoration there;
Down on our Knees devoutly all
Before the Lord our Maker fall.

PSALM XCVI.

SING to the Lord a new-made Song;
Let Earth, in one affembled Throng,
Her common Patron's Praise resound.
Sing to the Lord, and blefs his Name,
From Day to Day his Praise proclaim,
Who us has with Salvation crown'd: ›
To Heathen Lands his Fame rehearse,
His Wonders to the Universe.

[blocks in formation]

2 Proclaim aloud, Jehovah reigns,
Whofe Pow'r the Universe sustains,
And banish'd Juftice will reftore:

Let therefore Heav'n new Joys confefs,
And heav'nly Mirth let Earth exprefs;
It's loud Applaufe the Ocean roar;
It's mute Inhabitants rejoice,

And for this Triumph find a Voice. 3 For Joy let fertile Vallies fing,

The cheerful Groves their Tribute bring;
The tuneful Choir of Birds awake,

The Lord's Approach to celebrate,
Who now fets out with awful State,

His Circuit thro' the Earth to take;
From Heav'n to judge the World he's come,
With Juftice to reward and doom.

PSALM XCVI. O. V.

ISING ye with Praife unto the Lord, new Songs with Joy and Mirth:

Sing unto him with one Accord,
all People on the Earth.
2 Yea, fing unto the Lord alway,
praise ye his holy Name:

Declare and fhew from Day to Day
Salvation by the fame.

3 Among the People all declare

his Honour round about:

To fhew his Wonders do not spare in all the World throughout.

4 For why? the Lord is great in Might, and worthy of all Praife:

And
