of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America Composed of All Members of the Church THE GENERAL CONVENTION Whose membership includes all the Bishops of the Church, four clerical and four lay elected deputies from each diocese, and one clerical and one lay elected deputy from each missionary district, meets triennially, determines the general lines of the Church's missionary policy, and elects as its executive committee for missionary management the Board of Missions, composed of fifteen bishops, fifteen other clergymen and fifteen laymen. The Stated Meetings of the Board of Missions are held on the second Tuesday of each month save July and August, at two o'clock in the afternoon. Each has power to elect a department secretary, subject to the approval of the Board of Missions, to select a representative with the right to sit in the Board, but without a vote, and to promote the holding of missionary meetings for the purpose of fostering missionary interest within the department.
