On Friday, the 22d, in St. Mark's Church, Prince George county, I preached, confirmed two persons, and administered the Holy Communion.

On the Fourteenth Sunday after Trinity, the Feast of St. Bartholomew, I preached, confirmed five persons, and administered the LORD's Supper in St. Matthew's Church, Prince George county.

Monday, the 26th of August, in Trinity Church, Upper Marlborough, I preached, confirmed seventeen persons, (no less than eleven of whom were colored, and well prepared,) and administered the Holy Communion.

Tuesday, the 27th, I preached, confirmed eleven persons (nine of whom were colored) and celebrated the Communion in St. Barnabas' Church, Queen Ann Parish, Prince George county. Wednesday, the 27th, I preached, confirmed five persons, and administered the LORD's Supper, in the Holy Trinity Parish church, Prince George county.

The Fifteenth Sunday after Trinity, August the 31st, I said Morning Prayer, and preached, in the upper room used by the congregation of Mount Calvary Church, Baltimore.

The Sixteenth Sunday after Trinity, September the 7th, I preached and celebrated the Holy Communion in St. Paul's Church, Baltimore.

The Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity, September the 14th, I preached, confirmed three persons, and administered the LORD's Supper, in St. John's Church, Howard District.

On Friday, September the 19th, being an Ember day, I preached in Christ Church, Queen Caroline Parish, Anne Arundel county. The next day, I held the first canonical examination of Samuel Ridout, M. D., and Hanson T. Wilcoxon, candidates for Deacon's Orders, and the second and third examinations of Dr. Ridout; the Rev. R. II. Waters, the Rev. H. T. Harrison, and the Rev. R. Riley, Presbyters, being present and assisting.

The Eighteenth Sunday after Trinity, the Feast of St. Matthew, I held the autumnal ordination in Christ Church, Queen Caroline Parish, and admitted to the holy order of Deacons Dr. Samuel Ridout, on presentation by the Rev. Richard H. Waters. The Rev. John Hamilton Chew, Samuel R. Gordon and Meyer Lewin, Deacons, having been examined by me in the presence of the Rev. Hugh T. Harrison, Richard H. Waters, and Reuben Riley, Presbyters, were admitted to the Priesthood, the Rev. H. T. Harrison presenting them, and with the Rev. Messrs. Waters and Riley, assisting in the imposition of hands: on this occasion I preached, confirmed two persons, and administered the Holy Communion.

On the Nineteenth Sunday after Trinity, September the 26th, in the morning, I preached, confirmed two persons, and administered the Holy Communion, in Grace Church, Ellicott's Mills. This new building, yet unfinished, but spacious and of good promise as a seemly and commodious edifice, was on this occasion quite filled with an attentive and apparently interested congregation. In the afternoon of the same day, in the chapel of the Patapsco Female Institute, I preached, baptised an adult, and confirmed one person. What I witnessed this and the following day, of the internal condition of the Institute, confirmed my previous opinion of the excellence of its management, and of its great value to the Diocese, as a place of thorough female education.

Wednesday, October the 1st, in Zion Church, Urbana, Frederick county, I preached in the morning, and in the afternoon said Evening Prayer and preached. On Thursday, the 2d, in the morning, I preached and administered the LORD's Supper in the same Church; at night I said Evening Prayer and preached in All Saints' Church, Frederick. The next day, I preached and administered the LORD's Supper in the morning, and at night preached and confirmed twelve persons in the same Church. night. On Thursday, the 9th, I confirmed a woman lying dangerously ill, at her own house. On Friday, the 10th, I preached and administered the LORD's Supper in the morning, and said Evening Prayer at night, in Emmanuel Church.

On Sunday, the twenty-first after Trinity, October 12th, I consecrated an extremely neat and well arranged little building, erected mainly by the munificence and zeal of one daughter of the Church, who, in the rapidly growing population of the Mount Savage Works, causes her light to shine in all the varieties of 1 good works and evidences of Christian graces. St. George's Church has been built during the faithful missionary labor of the Rev. Mr. Kehler among the little congregation to which it belongs; but, although his ministrations still continue, the need of a resident pastor is greatly felt, and will, I trust, before long be supplied. Certainly, the great accumulation of population upon the spot, renders it peculiarly our duty to make provision for their spiritual necessities-the more so, as they belong exclusively to a class which the most needs, and can the least be expected to provide for itself, the consolations and restraints of our holy faith. At the consecration of St. George's I preached, confirmed three persons, and administered the LORD's Supper. On the evening of the same day, in Emmanuel Church, Cumberland, I preached, and confirmed eight persons.

On Tuesday, October the 14th, in St. Thomas's Church, Hancock, I baptised an infant, preached, confirmed five persons, and administered the LORD's Supper. Wednesday, the 15th, I preached and administered the Holy Communion in St. Andrew's Church, Clear Spring. On Friday, the 17th, in St. Paul's Church, Sharps

burg, I preached, confirmed two persons, and administered the LORD's Supper. On Saturday, the Feast of St. Luke, I preached and administered the Holy Communion in St. Luke's Church, Pleasant Valley, St. Mark's Parish, Frederick and Washington counties. This church, now neatly and substantially finished, after many severe struggles by the handful of people who make up its congregation, was to have been consecrated at this visit; but a misunderstanding had prevented the completion of the deed of donation, and it was found impracticable to convene a quorum of the vestry of the Parish in this remote corner without previous notice.

On the Twenty-second Sunday after Trinity, October the 19th, I preached, confirmed three persons, and administered the LORD's Supper in St. Mark's Church, Merryland Tract, in the morning; and in the afternoon, said Evening Prayer and preached, in the same church, for a congregation consisting exclusively of colored persons. Monday, October 20th, I preached, confirmed two persons, and administered the LORD's Supper, in St. Paul's Church, near the Point of Rocks, Frederick county. In the afternoon, I said Evening Prayer in the same church. The parish, then vacant, has since, for a season, had the services of the Rev. Mr. Winchester, but, as I hear, is again vacant,—not altogether, however, without a prospect of supply. Tuesday, the 21st, I preached and confirmed four persons in St. Peter's Church, Montgomery county. The parish was then suffering in consequence of a long vacancy: but has since been blessed with the vey efficient services of Mr. Winchester, and is rapidly reviving. Wednesday, the 22nd, I preached and administered the LORD's Supper in Christ Church, Rockville. Thursday, the 23d, performed the same services in St. Bartholomew's Church, Montgomery county, in the morning; and preached in the "Salem" meeting house at Brookville, at night. Friday, the 23d, I preached, administered confirmation to five persons, and celebrated the Holy Communion in St. John's Church, Mechanicsville.

Friday, October 31st, I administered confirmation to a man lying dangerously ill, at his own house in Baltimore.

Friday, November the 7th, in Stepney Parish, Somerset county, I baptised two infants, preached, confirmed four persons, and administered the Holy Communion, in the parish church; Saturday, the Sth, baptised one infant, preached, confirmed one person, and administered the LORD's Supper in St. Mary's Church, Tyaskin, in the same parish; Sunday, the 9th, at the school house at Witch Bridge, preached, confirmed five persons, and administered the Holy Communion, for the congregation of Grace Church, Hungary Neck: a very inclement day did not prevent the assemblage of a large congregation, eager for participation in the ordi

nances.

Monday, November the 10th, in Somerset Parish, at the request of the rector and vestry, I solemnly consecrated to the service of Almighty God the old parish church at Monie, by the name of All Saints' Church; and the next day, at the same request, performed a similar service in the church at Princess Anne, consecrating it by the name of St. Andrew's Church. In All Saints' Church, I confirmed eleven persons; in St. Andrew's four, in both, preached and administered the LORD's Supper. Both were filled with large and attentive congregations.

Wednesday, November 12th, in Coventry Parish, I preached and administered the Communion in Annimessix Chapel. Thursday, the 13th, in the same parish, I consecrated St. Mary's Church, Newtown, Worcester county. This church, simple in material and style, is peculiarly correct in its plan and detail, and complete in all the provisions for decency and the beauty of
