walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way;
and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and
of my father's house. Gen. xxiv. 40. The Lord appeared
to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God;
walk before me, and be thou perfect. Gen. xvii. 1. And
Enoch walked with God. Gen. v. 24.

Walking Like Jesus. He that saith he abideth
in him, ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1 Jo. ii. 6. For I have given you an example, that ye
should do as I have done to you. Jo. xiii. 15. Take my
yoke upon you, and learn of me: for I am meek and
lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Matt. xi. 29. Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an
example, that ye should follow his steps. 1 Pet. ii. 21.
Watchfulness, Watch and pray, that ye enter not
into temptation. Matt. xxvi. 41. Watch ye therefore,
and pray always. Lu. xxi. 36. Pray that ye enter not
into temptation. Lu. xxii. 40. What I say unto you, I
say unto all, Watch. Mar. xiii. 37. Watch ye, stand
fast in the faith. 1 Cor. xvi. 13. Therefore let us not
sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
1 Thes. v. 6. Be ye therefore sober, and watch unto
prayer. 1 Pet. iv. 7. But watch thou in all things.
2 Tim. iv. 5. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher
of our faith. Heb. xii. 2.

Warning Sinners. When I say unto the wicked,
Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning,
nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to
save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his ini-
quity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Ezk.iii.
18. Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his
righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling
block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not
given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righte-
ousness which he hath done shall not be remembered;
but his blood will I require at thine hand. Ezek. iii. 20.
If the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the
trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword
come, and take any person from among them, he is taken
away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the
watchman's hand. Ezek. xxxiii. 6. Then said Jesus again

unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. Jo. viii, 21.

Watching and hearing God, through His word. I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. Hab. ii. 1. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: And they are they which testify of me. Jo. v. 39. And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the Lord will command concerning you. Num. ix. 8. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. Prov. viii. 34. I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Ps. lxxxv. 8. Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. Prov. ii. 4, 5. Order my steps in thy word and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Ps. cxix. 133. Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes. Ps. cxix. 12.

We know not how to pray. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Rom. viii. 26. Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness. Job xxxvii. 19. But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? Matt. xx. 22. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. James iv. 3.

We cannot guide ourselves. O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. Jer. x. 23. Man's gogs are of the Lord; how can a man then understand own way? Prov. xx. 24. The lot is cast into the

lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord. Prov. xvi. 33. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God. 2 Cor. iii. 5. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Jo. xv. 5.

Wells of Baca. Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. Ps. lxxxiv. 6. The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary. Isa. 1. 4. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Lu. xxii. 32. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 2 Cor. i. 20.

We must go up and take possession. Behold, the Lord thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged. Deu. i. 21. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 2 Cor. vi. 17. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. Jo. v. 40. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded. Prov. i. 24. I BESEECH you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom. xii. 1.

Wealth-God gives power to obtain.-But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Deu. viii. 18. For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal. Hosea ii. 8. The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Prov. x. 22.

We are not our own. What! know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 Cor. vi. 19. For none of us liveth to himself, ar no man dieth to himself. Rom. xiv. 7. For whosoev

shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward. Mar. ix. 41. And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's. 1 Cor. iii. 23. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Cor. vi. 20.

Wholly following the Lord. Nevertheless, my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt but I wholly followed the Lord my God. Jos. xiv. 8. And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever; because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God. Jos. xiv. 9. But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it. Num. xiv. 24. Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the Lord. Num. xxxii. 12.

Who are called. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. 1 Cor. i. 26. Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Cor. ii. 8. And the common people heard him gladly. Mar. xii. 37. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. Lu. ii. 8. And the angel said unto them, Fear not for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Lu. ii. 10. Have any of the rulers, or of the Pharisees believed on him? Jo. vii. 48. At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Matt. xi. 25. Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. Ps. viii. 2.

Who are blessed, Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. Ixxxiv. 5. Blessed is the man that walketh not in counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the

way of

sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Ps. i. 1. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Ps. xxxii. 1. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. Ps. xli. 1. Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts. Ps. lxv. 4. Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law. Ps. xciv. 12. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandment. Ps. cxii. 1. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him, before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. Eph. i. 3, 4. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. Lu. i. 45. Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers : for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Matt. v. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Jam. i. 12. Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty. Job v. 17.
