16 For Thou desirest no sacrifice, else would I give it Thee: but Thou delightest not in burnt-offerings. 17 The sacrifice of God is a troubled spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, shalt Thou not despise. 18 O be favourable and gracious unto Sion: build Thou the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then shalt Thou be pleased with the sacrifice of righteousness, with the burnt-offerings and oblations: then shall they offer young bullocks upon Thine altar. Glory be to the FATHER, and to the SON: and to the HOLY GHOST. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end. Amen. Daily from Easter to Ascension-day. JESUS lives! no longer now Can thy terrors, Death, appal us: Thou, O Grave, canst not enthral us; JESUS lives! henceforth is death Alleluia! JESUS lives! for us He died: Then, alone to JESUS living, Alleluia! JESUS lives! our hearts know well Alleluia ! JESUS lives! to Him the Throne Rest and reign with Him in Heaven. Alleluia! Amen. Daily from Ascension-day to Whitsunday. THOU art gone up on high, With sin and care oppressed; Thou art gone up on high; But Thou didst first come down, Our onward course must be; Thou art gone up on high; LORD, by Thy saving power, So make us live and die, Daily in Whitsun-week. Come, HOLY GHOST, Creator Blest, The hearts which Thou Thyself hast made. To Thee, the COMFORTER, we cry, Thy gifts in sevenfold order stand, Thy Light to our dull sense impart, Drive far from us our deadly foe, Grant us to know the FATHER'S Name, To FATHER, SON, and PARACLETE, All praise for ever, as is meet: And may the SON on us bestow The gifts that from the SPIRIT flow. Amen. 15 |
