being the anniversary of the Martyrdom of King Charles
the First.
PROVERBS XXIV. 21.-My son, fear thou the Lord and
the king; and meddle not with them that are given to
change.
III.- Preached before the Lord Mayor at St. Paul's Cathe-
dral, Nov. 5, 1712.
II. Preached before the Sons of the Clergy at St. Paul's Ca-
thedral, December 5, 1710.
MATTHEW X. 41. 42.-He that receiveth a prophet in
the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward;
and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a
righteous man, shall receive a righteous man's reward.
And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little
ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple,
verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. 276
