Haftthou injured thy neighbour, in his goods or estate, by damaging him; by defrauding or over-reaching him in bargains, or contracts; or in his. good name, by slandering, backbiting, or insult?

Hast thou always performed thy words and contracts, without shuffing, treachery, or deceit?

Hast thou envied the good and prosperity of thy neighbour?

Reflect if thou hast not publish'd thy neighbour's faults, when neither the glory of God, nor the good of others, made such a publication necessary?

Dost thou not delight in laying open the failings of thy neighbour ?

Haft thou borne false witness against any man in a court of justice, or reproached, reviled, and railed against thy neighbour, in thy ordinary conversation? or fecretly Nandered him by whispering and backbiting?

Dost thou encourage backbiters, by listning to them, or giving too easy credit to their Nander?

Hast thou not oppress’d thy neighbour by thy power and authority, or by extortion, and griping usury?

Dost thou make a conscience of speaking according to truth?

Hast thou endeavour'd to assist thy neighbour in any distresses, to comfort him in his troubles; or when aspersed wrongfully, to vindicate his reputation ?

Hast thou, in the management of thy estate or calling, run into debt without liopes or design of payment?

Haft thou openly by force, or secretly by theft, taken away the goods of thy neighbour, or betrayed him in any matter committed to thy trust and management

Art thou ready to make restitution according to thy power, for the wrong and injustice thou hait a any time done thy neighbour?

Hast thou not fcoffed at or villified thy neighbour, for deformity of body or weakness of mind?

Haft thou had a more special love to all true and sincere christians, meekly borne with their infirmities, and heartily desired and fought their welfare?

Hast thou relieved the wants and necessities of thy neighbour according to thy ability, as one that is affected with them, and as being thyself also in che body, and liable to the same wants, distresses, and troubles with others?

Dost thou approve thyself careful of those of thy family, thy friends and relations, or any others that are committed to thy care, to counsel, to comfort, to reprove, as occasion is given, and need requires ?

Haft thou been mild and gentle in thy carriage towards thy inferiors; courteous, affable, and obliging towards thy equals; and doft thou pay due ho

Alt thou lived without the thought and confi

deration, that thou waft created by God to be eternally happyor miserable after this life; notwithstanding thyinterestand duty, and the express coinmand of God, call and oblige thee to be much and frequent in the exercise thereof?

Haft thou duly considered the terms and conditions, upon which God hath promised to make thee everlastingly happy?

Hast thou not wasted thy time in idleness or any unprofitable vanity?

Hast thou laid to heart the shortness ana uncertainty of this present life, and daily improved it to the best advantage?

Dost thou remember, that after this life we must give an account of all our actions ?

Hast thou exercised a daily care and watchfulness over thy deceitful heart, resisting its importunities and lufts? : Haft thou contented thyself with only the form and outside of religion and godliness, neglecting the life and power thereof?

Haft thou diligently and earnestly implored the aid and affistance of the holy spirit of God, to renew and sanctify thee?

Doft thou study to attain a true humility, and to become sensible of thy own follies and frailties?

Dost thou resist the first risings of pride, and an immoderate opinion of thyown understanding, and study to improve it to God's glory and the good of mankind?

Doft thou endeavour after a meek and quiet fpirit?

Hast thou not behaved with pride and haughtiness in conversation and carriage?

Hast thou not been angry without cause, or above just cause?

Haft thou not been pettish and froward in little things, and upon meer mistakes, and involuntary errors of others, for want of reviewing things in their just nature, weight, and measure

Art thou contented with the condition which God hath allotted thee in this world ?

Hast thou not been immoderately concern’d and anxious about present things ?

Hast thou not been too covetous of the world, its riches, honours, and pleasures ? Haft

Hait thou not fought to gain, or to keep thein by finful ineans ?

Haft thou been diligent in doing thy own business, and to provide those things that are needful and expedient for thyself and family, and such as depend upon thee?

Haít thou endeavoured to make thyself usefulin the world, and charitable to thy fellow-creatures ?

Hast thou restrained thy appetites? hast thou noc committed excess in eating and drinking, in Neep, or recreations?

Dost thou spend more time in feeping and recreations, than is a necessary and convenient refreshment?

Dost thou chuse and desire such recreations only as are honest and innocent?

Dost thou fast and pray for the fubduing and mortifying of thy lusts?

Hastthou never been guilty of adultery, fornication, or any other actual pollution and uncleanness, and been careful to avoid all such objects and difcourses, as are apt to excite filthy desires in thy heart?

Hast thou not had an impure heart, or unclean affections, or offended by any unchaste thoughts, words, or actions?

Dost thou use moderation in thy apparel, suitable to thy condition and abilities !
