L HYMN XXXIV. IFT high the sacred canticle, Extolling him who evermore Exalt the mighty Saviour's name, With all the heavenly company Let Salem's people raise The dew of his most holy birth He comes e'en like the glorious sun, His government and sovereignty Shall more and more increase: His throne, now set in righteousness, Shall give all nations peace. All glory to the Three in One, As in the ages past, be now, And everlastingly. Amen. T HYMN XXXV. `HE Son of man goes forth to war, His blood red banner streams afar— Who best can drink his cup of woe, Who patient bears his cross below, The martyr first, whose eagle eye Like him, with pardon on his tongue He prayed for them that did the wrong Who follows in his train ? A glorious band, the chosen few, On whom the Spirit came, Twelve valiant saints, their hope they knew, And braved the crofs and flame: They bowed their necks the death to feel: Who follows in their train? A noble army, men and boys, In robes of light arrayed. They climbed the steep ascent of heaven, To follow in their train. The kingdom, power, and victory, Are thine for ever, Lord, Blest Trinity in Unity, In earth and heaven adored. Amen. HYMN XXXVI.
