HYMN CLIX. JESUS, who thy flock art feeding With a shepherd's tender care; Those in travail gently leading, Now, these little ones receiving, Fold them in thy mighty arm; There, we know, thy word believing, They may lie secure from harm. Néver, from thy pasture roving, May thy watchfulness so loving Keep them through life's dangerous way. Then within thy fold eternal Let them find a resting place; Feed in pastures ever vernal, Drink from endless streams of grace. Amen. HYMN CLX. RISE, Christian soldiers, rise; Put heavenly armour on : Take all the strength that God supplies In his incarnate Son. Resist the powers of night; Confound their ill design; Encompassed with the Spirit's might, Engirt with truth divine. Go forth against your foes In beautiful array; With boldness their assaults oppose On Christ, the conqueror king, Whose praise the holy myriads sing, To heaven's eternal Three, HYMN HE shadow of the Almighty's cloud ΤΗ While drooping paused twelve banners proud, Then to the desert breeze unrolled, Now leading on the wars of God, And oft as sin and sorrow tire, The hallowed hour do thou renew, That blefsing dear, that dovelike hand, We lift our hearts, O Lord, to thee, S Amen. T HYMN CLXII. HE voice that breathed o'er Eden That earliest wedding day, The primal marriage blessing, Still in the pure espousal Of Christian man and maid, The holy three are with us, For dower of blessed children, For love and faith's sweet sake; For high mysterious union Which nought on earth can break ; Be present, awful Father, To give away this bride, As Eve thou gav'st to Adam Out of his own pierc'd side: To join their loving hands, As thou didst join two natures In thine eternal bands: Be present, Holy Spirit, To bless them as they kneel; O spread thy pure wing o'er them, As onward to thine altar The hallowed path they trace, To cast their crowns before thee, In perfect sacrifice, Till to the home of gladness With Christ's own bride they rise. Amen. |
