This book reviews the current state-of-the-art in textural analysis of rocks. It can be used as a how-to text for these measurements and the necessary data manipulation. It includes the theoretical background of the different analyses and recent case studies. Computer programs are listed in an appendix and readers are referred to a web site where data will be kept up-to-date. This book will prove invaluable to graduate students and researchers in petrology, and also to geochemists wanting to learn techniques to supplement their geochemical analyses.
