2 While the prayers of saints ascend
God of love, to mine attend;
Hear me, for thy Spirit pleads;
Hear, for Jesus intercedes.

3 While I hearken to thy law,
Fill my soul with humble awe,
Till thy Gospel bring to me
Life and immortality.

4 While thy ministers proclaim
Peace and pardon in thy name,
Through their voice, by faith, may I
Hear thee speaking from the sky.

5 From thy house, when I return,
May my heart within me burn;
And at evening let me say,
"I have walked with God to-day."

"He that keepeth thee will not slumber."

NOW

may he who from the dead

Brought the Shepherd of the sheep,

Jesus Christ, our King and Head,

All our souls in safety keep!

2 May he teach us to fulfil

What is pleasing in his sight;
Perfect us in all his will,

And preserve us day and night.

3 To that dear Redeemer's praise,

Who the covenant sealed with blood,
Let our hearts and voices raise

Loud thanksgivings to our God!

AFTER SERMON.

"While he blessed them, he was parted from them." 8s. 7s. 4.

ORD, dismiss us with thy blessing,
Fill our hearts with joy and

Let us each, thy love possessing,
Triumph in redeeming grace;
O refresh us,

peace

Travelling through this wilderness.

2 Thanks we give, and adoration,
For the Gospel's joyful sound;
May the fruits of thy salvation
In our hearts and lives abound:
May thy presence

With us evermore be found.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto

my path."

LMIGHTY FATHER, bless the word
Which through thy grace we now have
heard;

O may the precious seed take root,
Spring up, and bear abundant fruit.

2 We praise thee for the means of grace,
Thus in thy courts to seek thy face:
Grant, Lord, that we who worship here
May all, at last, in heaven appear.

"The Lord will bless his people with peace.

ISMISS us with thy blessing, Lord,
Help us to feed upon thy word;
All that has been amiss forgive,
And let thy truth within us live.

2 Though we are guilty, thou art good;
Wash all our works in Jesus' blood;
Give every fetter'd soul release,
And bid us all depart in peace.

AY the grace of Christ our Saviour,
And the Father's boundless love,

MAY

With the Holy Spirit's favour,
Rest upon us from above!

2 Thus may we abide in union

With each other and the Lord,
And possess, in sweet communion,
Joys which earth can not afford.

"The Lord shall give his people the blessing of peace."

10s.

AVIOUR, again to thy dear name we raise With one accord our parting hymn of praise; We stand to bless thee ere our worship cease, Then, lowly kneeling, wait thy word of peace.

2 Grant us thy peace upon our homeward way; With thee began, with thee shall end the day; Guard thou the lips from sin, the hearts from shame,

That in this house have called upon thy name.

3 Grant us thy peace, Lord, through the coming

night,

Turn thou for us its darkness into light;

From harm and danger keep thy children free,
For dark and light are both alike to thee.

4 Grant us thy peace throughout our earthly life,
Our balm in sorrow, and our stay in strife;
Then, when thy voice shall bid our conflict cease,
Call us, O Lord, to thine eternal peace.

Ember Days.

"Unto every one of us is given grace, according to
the measure of the gift of Christ."

ORD of the harvest, hear

L Thy needy servants' cry;

Answer our faith's effectual
And all our wants supply.

2 On thee we humbly wait,

prayer,

Our wants are in thy view;
The harvest, Lord, is truly great,
The labourers are few.

3 Anoint and send forth more
Into thy Church abroad,
Thy Spirit on their spirits pour,
And make them strong for God.

4 0 let them spread thy name,
Their mission fully prove;
Thy universal grace proclaim,
Thine all-redeeming love.

"Blessed are those servants whom the Lord when he
cometh shall find watching."

YE

E servants of the Lord,
Each in your office, wait,
Observant of his heavenly word,
And watchful at his gate.

2 Let all your lamps be bright,
And trim the golden flame;
Gird up your loins as in his sight,
For awful is his name.

3 Watch! 'tis your Lord's command,
And while we speak he's near;
Mark the first signal of his hand,
And ready all appear.

4 0 happy servant he

He shall his Lord with rapture see,
And be with honour crown'd.

Rogation Days.

MONDAY.

"The eyes of all wait upon thee, O Lord; and thou
givest them their meat in due season."

ORD, in thy name thy servants plead,
And thou hast sworn to hear;

Thine is the harvest, thine the seed,

The fresh and fading year.

2 Grant us, with precious things brought forth

By sun and moon below,

A place in thy new heavens and earth,
Where richer harvests grow.
