GRACE, mercy and peace be to you. I can bear witness in my bonds, that Christ is still the longer the better and no worse, yea, inconceivably better than he is or can be called; I think it half an heaven, to have my fill of the smell of his sweet breath, and to sleep in the arms of Christ my Lord, with his left hand under my head, and his right hand embracing me. To WILLIAM GORDON at Kenmure. Dear Brother,

light; for these cannot give to us what they have not in themselves. O that we could thrust in through S. To MARGARET FULLERTON.

God send me such a hell, as Christ hath promised to make a heaven of. Alas, I am not come that far on in the way, as to say in sad earnest, Lord Jesus, great and sovereign Physician, here is a pained patient for thee.'
